Conditions of Entry

Age Limit: Under 18 at 1st January 2024
Handicap Index Limit:

  • Boys 2.4
  • Girls 5.4

CDH *******: Players with CDH numbers must use this as their method of entry.

Handicaps, WHS

If you have a WHS Membership number (CDH number), but don’t use it for entry, your handicap will not be automatically updated with the results of the tournament and you will have to ask your handicap secretary to update your handicap using the tournaments results.

For players that have a WHS Membership Number, the ballot will be conducted using the handicap index held at the time of the ballot on WHS.

Overseas Players may be asked for proof of handicap (No CDH number).

If your handicap is better than scratch, please enter it as a + number i.e. if your h/cap is “plus 1”, please enter it as “+1”.

With the implementation of the World Handicap System (WHS) and under the guidance from England Golf, the organisers of this competition will seek to ensure that competitors handicaps are reflective of their competition playing ability. The organisers reserve the right to ballot out players who’s records do not meet requirements. A report of players GP score differentials vs Competition Score differentials can be used in this instance.

To have entry considered, competitors previous 12 months playing records will be used to assist with this process. The decision for acceptance for entry for a player into the competition is at the sole discretion of the competition organising committee.

Entry

Entry must be made by means of the online entry system.

Payment

Credit/debit card at point of entry via Golf Genius.

Closing Date

The closing date for entries will be Friday 3rd May 2024.

Ballot

A draw (ballot) will be conducted by Friday 17th May 2024 to select 156 entrants. In addition, reserves will be selected. There will be a minimum of 30 players in each field.

Notification

A table of entrants will be published on the website and will be live. Following the ballot, all entrants will be notified by email as to whether they have been successful in the ballot.

Start Times

Provisional start times (for Friday and Saturday) will be published on the website within a week of the ballot being conducted. These will be finalised on Monday 10th June 2024.

Exams

The Committee will accept requests from players for specific start times to accommodate examinations and other genuine circumstances. Players are asked to submit their requests to office@kingshillgolf.co.uk with your entry for your request to be considered. Please note we cannot guarantee your request will be accommodated.

Refunds/Withdrawals

Entrants NOT selected to play will have their entry fee refunded. (Refunds for reserves will be made post-tournament). Should an entrant withdraw before the closing date a full refund will be given. Should an entrant withdraw after the closing date, a refund will only be given if their place can be filled by a reserve.

Committee’s Rights

The Competition Committee reserves the right to allow the entry of a few entrants, that would otherwise fall outside the ballot, where they are nominated by main sponsors or are needed to make up an international team – such international entrants must meet the handicap limit criteria. All entries shall be subject to the approval of the Competition Committee who reserves the right to accept or refuse any entry without giving reasons for its decision, which shall be final. The Competition Committee reserves the right to disqualify any competitor making a false or incorrect statement on their entry form.

Practice Round

Players will be entitled to one courtesy practice round after the ballot. Players can book practice rounds at the point of entry via Golf Genius. The practice session will be held on Thursday 20th June 2024 and is included in your entry fee.

Competition

The Championships shall be a 54-hole stroke play competition, played over 3 days (Friday 21st June to Sunday 23rd June 2024). There will be a separate competition for boys and girls.

The winners shall be the boy and girl who return the lowest gross scores over 54 holes. In the event of a tie there will be a ‘sudden death’ play-off over the 18th hole, until a winner is established.

National Teams, consisting of 3 players (boys, girls or mixed) may be entered into the Nations Trophy which will be played for over the first 36 holes and will be decided using the best 2 scores from each round.

There is a competition for the best under-16 boy and the best under-16 girl.

Age Criteria

The age criterion is based on the date of the championship (not 1st Jan) and entrants are only allowed to win one prize, with the greater to be awarded.

Caddies

Caddies are permitted but must meet the same age limit as players.

By entering the tournament, a player accepts the Committee’s policies regarding medical, photography and data privacy.

Nestled amidst picturesque landscapes, the club opens its doors to the young and talented golfers under the age of 18, creating an inviting atmosphere for both players and spectators alike.

Set in over 200 acres of undulating terrain, Kings Hill Golf Club features large areas of protected heath and mature woodland. The 6,600 yard par 72 golf course has been built to the highest specifications, with USGA standard greens and tees.

Practice facilities include a full length practice range, a short game practice area and putting green.
